DisneyLand half marathon!

After running these last couple of years I really wanted to run a RunDisney race. I kept my eye on it over a year and a half but it was always full when i noticed it. So I made sure to sign up for an update to let me know when registration is opened. The day came, I think sometime in Jan? or Feb about it being able to sign up. I instantly signed up Paul and myself. It was already 75% full when I got to the website. So i made it official, I signed up for a Disneyland Half!! Labor day weekend finally came and we headed off to Cali.
We left Seattle Wednesday morning to get there a few days before the race. The flight there got delayed but we finally made it to Cali. rented our car and headed to the hotel which was close to Disney, we stayed at knotts berry farm?
Thursday we went to Disneyland and played. perfect timing hardly anyone there. !

Friday we went to the Disney expo. Oh my goodness, that was so unorganized! It finally got semi organized outside that when we got our packets and stuff it was easy. then it was time to walk around the expo. I got a few new items there. I really wanted a shirt from the expo but it was so crazy in there that i didn't want to wait for ever in line to buy it. plus Paul wasn't feeling great in there. probably the stress of being in there! then we went to  Knotts berry farm. Once again perfect timing for rides because no one was there so we hopped on and off rides very fast!

 Saturday: we went to the beach. it was crazy there

Sunday was race day! We didn't sleep that well the night before but we were so close to the race it was perfect. i think we were 5 min walking away which was perfect! We left the hotel room by 4:30A and lined up in the corral C and the race started at 5:30a. We didn't start until 5:45a. And off we went.Ran through California Adventure seeing things you normally wouldn't see in the park. Seeing Characters along the way and running in the dark was so much fun. I wanted my picture taken with Monsters Inc people but we didn't stop :( Then we ran into Disneyland down main town and around ran through the castle and out through toon town to the streets of Anaheim. We ran thru the Honda center seeing some pretty cool old cars- fords, mustangs, corvettes. then we ran thru the Angels stadium. that was pretty cool considering we ran around the bases, and then saw our faces on the big camera. Then we ran back to Disney and finished at the Disney land hotel. There were so many supporters on the course, along the way, all the road, in the stadium. It was never a dull moment!

Paul and I finished the race together. I loved this race and would to run another rundisney race again!!
